There is something truly magical about opening a new book but sharing that journey with a wonderful community makes it even better. The members of Moving Mountains have officially kicked off our brand-new book club, and we couldn't be more excited for the adventure ahead!

After taking a group vote, our very first fiction pick is The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods—a captivating story filled with mystery, heart, and historical intrigue.

Yesterday, we gathered online for our very first meeting to dive into Chapter 1. Even though miles separated us—with members logging in all the way from Utah, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Virginia—the warmth in the virtual room made it feel like we were sitting together in the same cozy living room. We spent time introducing ourselves, catching up on life, and setting the stage for what’s to come. We even got a special surprise visit from a sweet grandbaby who popped in to say hello!

When we dove into the book itself, the consensus was immediate: everyone loved it!

One member shared that the opening gave her the exact feel of women's historical fiction that she loves so much. Others were already eager to read ahead into the next chapters, while several members noted how fascinating it is to see the social dynamics of the 1920s mirroring so many themes we still observe today.

This first gathering was a wonderful reminder of what Moving Mountains is all about: connecting, sharing stories, and finding community no matter where we call home. We are so excited to see where Opal, Martha, and Henry's journeys take us next.
