We want you to know exactly how Moving Mountains uses what you give.
We never give members money.
Every dollar of help goes to a provider or a supplier, never to a member's pocket.
How we help with medical bills
A member shares a medical bill with us. Jess reviews it and asks whatever questions are needed. As a team, we decide what portion of the bill we can pay that relates to the brain injury. Sometimes we cover a whole bill. Sometimes we can only cover part, because we are still growing. Either way, we contact the provider and pay them directly.
How we help with medical equipment
When a member needs equipment, Jess meets with them and they choose an item together from a medical supply store. Jess then brings it to the board to confirm we can purchase it. We place the order and the item is shipped straight to the member.
Where your gift goes
Every dollar goes to our community; whether that's a medical need, activity we do together, sponsoring an organization, or helping with summer camp. It all goes to our community of brain injury survivors.
Other needs
For needs such as food or housing, we build a care plan that points members to food banks, churches offering meals, and housing assistance organizations.
How donations are kept in order
When you give, you can choose which of our funds your gift goes to. Our CFO makes sure every gift is recorded in the right fund. Our Compliance Director makes sure we follow all state and federal requirements.
Help is decided case by case.
